ICOSPA Fact Sheet 

The International Council of Sheet Metal Presswork Associations (ICOSPA) includes members of the national trade associations representing metalforming industries throughout North America, Europe and Asia.  ICOSPA members are trade associations with metalforming companies as their primary members. 

Most ICOSPA associations also have associate members who supply materials, equipment or services to the metalforming industry.  Markets served include automotive, truck, appliance, business machines, medical equipment, construction, agriculture, electronics, industrial and consumer hardware and defense industries.

• Members are national associations of metalforming companies and those serving the industry from North America (Canada, Mexico and the United States), France, Germany, Japan, the United Kingdom and the Netherlands.
  
  
• ICOSPA member associations are the leading metalforming industry organizations in their countries.  Key technologies employed by metalforming companies include metal stamping, precision sheet metal fabrication, roll forming, metal spinning, slide forming, deep drawing, small lot stamping and washer manufacturing.
  
  
• ICOSPA membership includes more than 12,300 companies (with 20 or more employees) throughout the world, with sales of $72 billion (USD and employing more than 600,000.
  
  
• Member companies supply component parts, assemblies and subassemblies less than one gram each to over two tons, each.
  
  
• The primary focus of the ICOSPA International Congress is to establish a greater understanding of international business issues and practices, technology development, safety and management practices affecting the metalforming industry.
  
  
• Every three years ICOSPA holds its largest event, the International Congress, that is hosted and organized on a rotating basis by one of the member associations.  Typical attendance includes 300 to 500 delegates and spouses from more than 10 countries.
