Sheet Metal Engineering -- A Modern Industry Extending Around the World
Over 12,300 companies (with 20 or more employees) throughout the world, with sales of $72 billion (US) and employing over 600,000. Our member companies supply assemblies, subassemblies and parts weighing from two tons to less than one gram each to:
- the automotive industry
- the machinery industry
- the electrical and electronic industries
- many other markets
We are proud of:
- a long tradition of craftsmanship and service
- high performance in precision, quality, value, delivery, development and management
Modern design and construction practices encourage our customers to use more sheet metal components because they are lighter and more cost effective than other metal parts-- and more easily recycled than plastic parts.
The largest ICOSPA event is the International Congress, which is held every three years. It is hosted and organized on a rotating basis by one of the member associations. The primary focus of the ICOSPA International Congress is to establish a greater understanding of business issues and practices, technology development, safety; and management practices affecting the metalforming industry. Typical attendance includes some 300 to 500 delegates and spouses from more than 10 countries.
Meetings of the ICOSPA delegation from each member association are held to assure continued networking and communication among ICOSPA members. Participating in the Presidents Council meetings are the elected leaders, ICOSPA delegates and chief staff executive from each member association. Focus of these meetings is to consider new opportunities to further the international relationship-building objectives of ICOSPA.
